Following extensive consultation with clinical and technical experts, the Medical Imaging Standard Components have been updated. There has been a delay to publishing these following the Health Planning Unit publication due to a comprehensive audit and clean-up of the AusHFG Item Control Schedule and revised Room Data Sheet template for improved usability.
Key changes to the Medical Imaging Standard Components include updates to the Reporting Rooms, Reporting Workstations, and Control Rooms with revisions to ICT FFE and enhanced guidance on ICT, acoustics, and lighting. The imaging modality room layouts, including General X-Ray, OPG, Mammography, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, CT and MRI, have been updated for improved clinical function, optimal staff work practices and to meet accessibility requirements. A combined General X-ray and OPG Room Standard Component has been created to assist project teams where these modalities are combined to optimise workflow and room utilisation.
The updated Standard Components include:
- REPR – Reporting Room
- REPW – Reporting Workstation
- XRAY – General X-Ray Room (previously GENXR)
- OPG – OPG Room
- ULTR – Ultrasound Room
- ULTR-PR – Ultrasound Room – Procedures
- MAMMO – Mammography Room
- FLUO – Fluoroscopy Room
- FLUO-CTRL – Fluoroscopy Control Room (previously FLUOC)
- CTIR – CT Imaging Rom
- CTIR-CTRL – CT Imaging Control Room (previously CTCR)
- MRI – MRI Room (previously MRIR)
- MRI-CTRL – MRI Control Room (previously MRICR)
The following Standard Component has been created:
- XRAY-OPG - General X-Ray / OPG Room
Project Resources
Updates to the above Standard Components are also reflected in the following updated Project Resources:
- Standard Component Document Register
- Standard Component File for Import (to database or BIM platforms)
- Item Control Schedule (version 2.1)
Note: due to changes to the Room Data Sheet (RDS) content and format, the File for Import has been provided as two separate files. One file provides the information for the Standard Components that are still published in the old RDS format, while the other provides information for the Standard Components that are now published in the new RDS format. This will be updated progressively as Standard Components are reviewed and re-published until all Standard Components are provided in the new format.
Due to a model update that is in progress, an updated version of the AusHFG Revit Model cannot be provided at this time.
The following Resources do NOT yet reflect the above changes to Standard Components:
- AusHFG Revit Model (and Shared Parameters)
- AusHFG IFC Model
Communication to follow shortly regarding model updates.
A thank you is extended to the many user representatives, jurisdictional representatives and consultants who have assisted in the review and production of these resources.
Kind regards,
The AusHFG Team
