Non Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit

An updated revision of HPU136 Non Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit (Revision 3, February 2019) has been uploaded. Key changes to the document include:

• removal of duplicated information included in HPU 131 Mental Health Overarching Guideline, published in March 2018;
• an update of all content including a clearer definition of the scope of this HPU;
• emphasis on design solutions to provide an individualised, home-like and therapeutic environment that supports the restoration of function and transition of consumers back to the community and promotion of self-regulation strategies;
• general update of the schedule of accommodation including update of the bedroom size from 14m2 to 16m2 to align with the revised standard component and to provide additional area for a larger than standard wardrobe, TV and additional storage for longer stay consumers.
